Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements as well as relevant regulations, data protection provisions and security standards for a leading company in the insurance industry
We were responsible for all IT compliance issues for a leading company in the insurance industry. We ensured that the IT systems and processes complied with legal and regulatory requirements and adhered to all relevant regulations, data protection provisions and security standards.
This includes the regular review and evaluation of existing IT systems to ensure that they fulfil both the applicable compliance requirements of our client and those of BaFin. All compliance measures and activities are of course documented. This creates transparency and serves as proof in the event of inspections or audits. Based on the results of these activities, we create and update the compliance guidelines and corresponding guidelines for their implementation.
With regard to the above-mentioned requirements and their possible changes, a further focus is the identification of weak points and their analysis and risk assessment.
It goes without saying that close cooperation with internal teams, including IT departments, legal departments and other relevant areas, is essential for all of the aforementioned activities to ensure that all those affected are informed about current compliance requirements and work together to implement them. In some cases, further training is also required for employees, for whom we organise training courses and provide appropriate materials on request.
