Standardized IT infrastructure for construction projects: Technical project coordination for leading automobile manufacturer
A leading German car manufacturer entrusted us as technical project coordinator to manage the IT infrastructure in construction projects. Thanks to our central role as the point of contact for IT and financial issues and the coordination of internal and external stakeholders, we were able to ensure that all IT infrastructures were implemented on time, on budget and to the highest quality standards.
The provision of a reliable and efficient IT infrastructure plays a decisive role in the construction projects of a leading German car manufacturer. We were appointed as the technical project coordinator ("Integration Lead") to manage this challenging task.
In this role, we supported the overall project managers from the real estate management department as well as other project stakeholders. As the single point of contact (SPoC) for IT and commercial issues, we coordinated the management of all project activities for the provision of both active and passive IT infrastructures. This included distribution rooms, distribution cabinets, structured cabling (fiber/copper), WAN, LAN, WLAN, in-house mobile phone coverage, VoIP and media technology.
Our tasks included communicating with all internal IT departments and external service providers, including specialist planners and specialists. We coordinated the timing and technical aspects of all sub-project services and their interaction with the main project, the construction project. Thanks to our central coordination role, we were able to ensure that all sub-project services and the passive IT infrastructure commissioned by the construction project were completed within the specified budget, on time and to the required quality.
Compliance with the Group's own guidelines and standards was of particular importance in order to guarantee the highest quality and reliability of the IT infrastructure. Our careful planning and precise coordination ensured that the IT infrastructures were delivered on time and to the highest standards. Only under these conditions is a car manufacturer able to operate standardized IT systems in its properties.
