Test management for the company-wide direct sales programme of a leading German car manufacturer
As part of a major company-wide project to introduce a completely newly developed direct marketing system, we took over the test management for a specific sales region. In this role, we ensured the fulfilment of the mandatory requirements for all test activities in three key test phases of the rollout and guaranteed their required quality.
- During the System Integration Tests phase, our focus was primarily on ensuring that the various applications within the overall software system and their relevant interfaces were ready and functioning.
- In the subsequent End-to-End Testing phase, the focus was on whether the overall system enables the B2C business processes to sell a vehicle directly in the respective market.
- Finally, in the User Acceptance Tests phase, we focussed on whether specific functionalities that are not already covered by E2E scenarios are implemented correctly in the markets of "our" sales region.
Our other tasks included checking and documenting the test coverage of all interface applications in a sales region for the newly developed, company-wide direct sales application landscape. Among other things, we supported the departments responsible for execution in the recording and assignment of test cases, the creation of test plans and the execution of tests – always taking into account the overall context of the programme.
In addition, we answered open questions from all those affected and involved, advised them and helped them to use the test management tool Jira Xray.
